Air Conditioner Replacement

A repair may not always be sufficient to fix your air conditioner. Sometimes a new air conditioner is the most cost effective and energy efficient way to go. We will always be honest with you about a possible air conditioner replacement. We value your time and your money, we don’t want to perform repairs or service on an appliance that is need of replacement.

How Does an Air Conditioner Work?

An air conditioner doesn’t create cool air. It actually removes the heat from the air. Your AC uses a chemical called refrigerant to remove heat and transfer it outside. The warm air runs through the lines and coils in your unit and goes form liquid to gas and back again and during this process the refrigerant removes the heat and transfers it elsewhere so that when the air comes out the other side it is cool.

Air conditioners also remove humidity. Lower humidity helps the overall comfort level by making you feel cooler, even if the temperature is the same.

How Often Do I Need to Replace the Air Filter?

A dirty air filter restricts your air flow which reduces efficiency, costing you money and over time can put stress on your unit and could lead to costly repairs. Replacement schedules vary depending upon the type of air filter being used. Some types of air filters should be replaced monthly, while others can go up to six months. Refer to your air conditioner’s manual for more information.

How Often Do I Need Maintenance Performed on my Air Conditioner?

Your air conditioner needs regular check ups to keep it running optimally. Having regular annual preventative maintenance will increase the lifespan of your air conditioner and result in fewer breakdowns over time. In addition, the better your air conditioner is operating, the less energy it will use, which saves you money in utility bills!

What is SEER?

The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) measures air conditioning cooling efficiency, which is calculated by the cooling output for a typical cooling season divided by the total electric energy input during the same time frame. A higher SEER rating means greater energy efficiency.
